Umah Shakti (translating roughly as 'house of energy' in Balinese) is Sanur's most culturally immersive yoga studio — a traditional Balinese compound set away from the beach strip, surrounded by temples and lush greenery. The studio was founded by Lilik Manuaba and is distinguished by its integration of Balinese spiritual tradition into the yoga curriculum: genuine cultural knowledge, not the superficial version often offered at tourist-facing studios.
The 200-hour teacher training is accredited by Yoga Alliance to their Elevated RYS 200 standards, and is led by Manohara (E-RYT 500) with Balinese culture taught by Tjok Mirah, a descendant of the Royal Klungkung family who has participated in Balinese ceremonies since childhood. For students who want their YTT to include authentic immersion in the living culture that gave birth to Bali's spiritual reputation, this program is unlike anything else available in Sanur.
Yoga Alliance certification on completion. Training is held in a sacred outdoor Balinese shala within the compound. Sanur's beach, restaurants, and wellness scene are within easy reach.
Gg. XI No.14, Sanur Kauh, Denpasar Selatan — a quiet Balinese compound away from the tourist strip, within easy reach of Sanur's beachside promenade, markets, and cafes. A 30-minute drive from Ngurah Rai International Airport.
